KÂR Katılım Altın Rafinerisi A.Ş. rigorously considers human rights, environmental protection, working conditions and compliance with applicable laws throughout its gold and silver sourcing processes, with a strong commitment to sustainability. In supplier assessments, in addition to Know Your Supplier (KYS) and verification controls, a risk-based approach is applied to examine the ownership structure, source of the precious metal, purpose of the transaction and payment channels.
No business relationship is established with suppliers whose source cannot be verified or for whom sufficient information cannot be obtained. Where risks cannot be prevented or reduced to an acceptable level, existing business relationships may be suspended or terminated. KÂR adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards serious human rights violations, child labour, forced labour, the support of armed groups, money laundering, terrorist financing, bribery, corruption and the illicit trade in precious metals.
Responsible sourcing and traceability processes are conducted with due regard to the following regulations, standards and guidelines:
Applicable national legislation, including Law No. 5549 and regulations issued by MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board of Türkiye);
Borsa İstanbul regulations concerning responsible supply chains, internal control, compliance and assurance audits;
The five-step due diligence approach developed by the OECD for responsible mineral supply chains;
The risk-based approach of the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) to combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism;
The responsible sourcing principles set out in the LBMA Responsible Gold Guidance and LBMA Responsible Silver Guidance.
